Terms of Service

Effective date: 1 September 2026 · Version v1

These terms are the agreement between you and SabiJorb when you use the platform. By creating an account you accept them.

1. Who can use SabiJorb

  • You must be at least 18 years old and able to enter a binding agreement.
  • You must provide accurate information and keep it up to date. One person or organisation, one account, unless we agree otherwise.
  • Employer accounts must represent a real business. A company must pass document verification before it can post jobs.
  • You may not use SabiJorb if we have previously suspended or removed your account.

2. Your account and security

  • You are responsible for keeping your login details secure and for everything done through your account.
  • Tell us promptly if you believe your account has been accessed without your permission.
  • Sensitive actions — changing your password or email, or deleting your account — require you to reauthenticate (for example, by re-entering your password or signing in again with Google).

3. Job seeker responsibilities

  • Only apply to or contact employers about roles you are genuinely interested in.
  • Give truthful information in your profile, CV, and messages.
  • Information an employer shares with you through the platform is for your job search only. Do not republish it or use it for any other purpose.

4. Employer responsibilities

  • Post only genuine job openings for your own organisation, with accurate details.
  • Do not ask candidates for payment, bank details, or fees of any kind as a condition of applying, interviewing, or being hired.
  • Use candidate information (including CVs and contact details) only to assess and contact that candidate about the role. Do not add people to marketing lists, sell their data, or share it outside your hiring team.
  • Follow applicable Nigerian employment and anti-discrimination law in your listings and your dealings with candidates.
  • Keep your company details and verification documents accurate and current.

5. Prohibited content and behaviour

You must not use SabiJorb to:

  • Post false, misleading, or fraudulent job listings, or “pay to apply” and advance-fee schemes.
  • Impersonate another person, company, or SabiJorb itself, or misrepresent your affiliation with any organisation.
  • Harass, threaten, defame, or discriminate against anyone.
  • Send spam, chain messages, or bulk unsolicited messages.
  • Post content that is unlawful, obscene, hateful, or infringes someone else’s rights.
  • Upload malware, attempt to break platform security, scrape the site, or use bots to access it.
  • Collect or harvest other users’ personal data except as the marketplace is designed to allow.

6. Platform communications

  • Messaging exists to arrange legitimate hiring. Conversations may be reviewed by administrators when a report is made.
  • We send service emails about your conversations, interviews, verification, and account. You can adjust optional notifications in settings; essential account emails cannot be switched off.
  • Do not use platform messaging to advertise unrelated products or services.

7. Job listings and verification

  • We review companies before they can post and may review, flag, or remove any listing that appears to break these terms. We do not guarantee the accuracy of any listing or the outcome of any application.
  • Verification means we have checked the documents provided. It is not a guarantee about an employer’s conduct. Use your own judgement and never send money or sensitive personal documents to secure a job.

8. Payments and promotions

  • Employers may pay to promote a job listing. Prices and what a promotion includes are shown before you pay.
  • Payments are processed by Paystack. We do not store your card details.
  • Promotion fees are generally non-refundable once the promotion has started, except where required by law or where we cancel a promotion ourselves.

9. Suspension and termination

  • You may stop using SabiJorb at any time and can delete your account from settings.
  • We may suspend or terminate an account, remove content, or withdraw company verification if we reasonably believe these terms have been broken, if it is necessary to protect users or the platform, or to comply with the law. Where practical we will give you a reason.
  • A suspended account cannot post jobs, send messages, or upload documents. Sections of these terms that by their nature should survive termination (for example intellectual property, disclaimers, and limitation of liability) continue to apply.

10. Intellectual property

  • SabiJorb and its name, design, and software belong to us. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive right to use the platform under these terms.
  • You keep ownership of the content you submit (your profile, CV, listings, messages). You grant us the right to host, display, and share that content as needed to operate the marketplace and its features.
  • Only submit content you have the right to submit.

11. Disclaimers

SabiJorb is provided “as is”. We are a venue that connects job seekers and employers; we are not a party to any employment relationship, interview, offer, or hiring decision, and we do not employ, endorse, or vouch for any user. We do not guarantee that the service will be uninterrupted or error-free, that any job or candidate is suitable, or that any listing or profile is accurate.

12. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by Nigerian law, SabiJorb is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential losses, or for lost profits, lost opportunities, or losses arising from your dealings with another user. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded by law. The precise cap on our liability will be confirmed in the legally reviewed version of these terms.

13. Changes to the service and these terms

We may change or discontinue features, and we may update these terms as the service or the law changes. If we make a material change we will update the effective date and version above and, where appropriate, notify you or ask you to accept the updated terms. Continuing to use SabiJorb after a change means you accept the updated terms.

14. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. The courts of Nigeria have jurisdiction over any dispute, subject to any different arrangement in the legally reviewed version of these terms.
